The short version

• Amwalio does not receive your plan. Everything you type stays in your own browser, on your own device.
• There are no accounts, no tracking, no adverts and no bank connections in this version.
• We do not sell or share anything, because we do not have your plan to share.

Amwalio is run by the Amwalio team, a not-for-profit project that is not yet a registered company. Contact: hello@amwalio.app.

Your plan stays on your device

• Your plan (money in and out, one-offs, savings goals, big purchases, debts and settings) is kept in your browser's storage on this device. It is not sent to or kept by Amwalio.
• Reminders you dismiss are also remembered in your browser only.
• Anyone who uses the same browser on the same device may see your plan. Use Clear this device when you finish on a shared computer.
• If you clear your browser data, change device or use private browsing, your plan may be lost. We cannot recover it, because we never had it.
• The typical UK amounts in the set-up wizard are built into the page. Showing them does not send anything about you anywhere.

What our web host sees

Like any website, when your device loads Amwalio it sends basic technical details, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to our web host, Netlify, Inc.. The host may keep these in short-term logs to keep the site secure and working. These logs never contain your plan.

• Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
• Our host may process this data in the United States. It participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension, and uses standard contractual clauses for other transfers.

Cookies and browser storage

We use no cookies of our own, no analytics and no third-party trackers. The only thing we store is your plan in your browser, because you asked the tool to keep it. That is strictly necessary for the tool to work, so there is no cookie banner.

Your rights

Because we do not hold your plan, you control it entirely: edit it, or remove it with Clear this device. For the technical logs our host keeps, you can ask us about access, correction, deletion or objection at hello@amwalio.app. It is free, and we reply within one month.

Changes

When we add accounts and saving, we will update this notice before those features go live, and we will ask for your consent before saving anything.
