Plan your family’s money

Terms of use

Version 1.0 · Last updated 11 September 2026

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use Amwalio at amwalio.app. Amwalio is run by the Amwalio team, a not-for-profit project that is not yet a registered company. Contact: hello@amwalio.app. By using Amwalio you agree to these terms. Our privacy notice explains what happens to your information.

2. What Amwalio is

Amwalio is a free tool that helps families plan their own money, month by month. It covers money in and out, one-offs, savings goals, big purchases (costs and savings only) and debts you already owe. Your plan stays in your browser on your device. There are no accounts in this version.

3. Not financial advice

Amwalio organises the figures you enter and does the sums. It does not tell you what to buy, save, invest in, borrow or repay, and it does not know your full circumstances.

  • Nothing in Amwalio is financial, tax, legal or investment advice.
  • The typical UK amounts in the set-up wizard are averages from official statistics (ONS). They are a guide to help you remember costs, not a recommendation, and your own amounts may be very different.
  • Reminders (“did you forget…?”) are prompts based on your own plan, not advice.
  • Forecasts are only as good as the figures you put in.
  • For advice about your situation, speak to a qualified, regulated adviser.

4. No interest products

Amwalio does not offer, list, recommend, compare or link to any interest-based products, including through affiliate links. Big purchases are planned with costs and savings only. Recording a debt you already owe is for your own planning. Amwalio has no bank connections and never asks for bank log-ins.

5. Your plan is kept in your browser

We cannot see, back up or recover your plan. If you clear your browser, change device or use private browsing, it may be lost. On a shared computer, use Clear this device when you finish.

6. Fair use

Please don't break the law using Amwalio, try to break or probe its security (tell us at hello@amwalio.app instead), overload it with bots or scrapers, or copy it to run as a competing service.

7. Amwalio's content

Amwalio's software, design and text belong to the Amwalio team or its licensors. You may use Amwalio to plan your own family's money. Typical UK amounts are from the Office for National Statistics, under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

8. Availability and changes

Amwalio is free. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may improve or change features. If we change these terms in an important way, we will show the new version on the site before it takes effect.

9. Our liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
  • Amwalio is a free planning tool for personal and family use. We are not responsible for decisions you make using its figures or forecasts, errors from figures you entered, a plan lost from your browser, or losses that were not reasonably foreseeable.
  • If Amwalio damages your device or other digital content because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay fair compensation.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also use your local courts. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
